SANDAKAN: Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail touched down in Sandakan and has called on voters to have confidence in DAP candidate, Vivian Wong in this parliamentary by-election. In her point of view, she believes that Vivian Wong can maintain the developing transformation in the district. This is because Vivan's late father, Datuk Stephen Wong, used to be part of the parliament and he had passed away before he could make any changes in the constitution; Vivian could help to continue his legacy and this was the chance for her to make it come true.

Dr Wan Azizah added that voters should really give a chance to Vivian to prove her worthiness as a youth that can change and bring improvement to the current government and its political party. She even reassured the voters and the nation that the Pakatan Harapan-led government has a great plan for Sabah's future, as pledged in the 14th general election. "We are facing the 1MDB issue that includes the misuse of money and if it wasn't for this, Sabah would be long benefitted from development," said Dr Wan Azizah to the group of reporters as she did rounds at the Sandakan weekend market.

She further described that Sandakan is an alluring coastal district that could be use for tourism which could help in the development of economics to the constitution. With this description, she continued, "This is what we want Vivian to do, bring Sandakan's voice to the parliament so it can be heard." In behalf of the youth and the Sandakan's people, Vivian indeed has an important role to play; to bring more changes and convergence that would allow the country to develop at the same pace as other countries. As the Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisory council chairman, she called on the people to continue showing their support for the reigning party and emphasises that PKR, DAP along with Parti Warisan Sabah to work together.

Many voters are hesitating when it comes to candidate, Vivian Wong due to her age but she reassured that age is just a number when it comes to leadership. As a youth, many voters think she's not experienced enough but in this generation, we need young people to bring transformation in this country but maintain the gift that the older generation has worked and blessed us with. Lastly, Vivian expressed her thoughts, "We need young leaders too, to represent the voice of youth. I can be the voice for women and children too."
