BTS Makes History Once Again

Famous South Korean boyband, BTS makes history once again with their latest album, Map of The Soul: Persona that entered the UK singles chart at No 1. At the same time, the boyband also sold more than 2.13 million copies of their new album in the first week of its release. Formerly, Love Yourself: Tear, their previous album which was sold last year in May, held the record of the highest selling K-Pop album in the first week but now it has been taken over by Map of The Soul: Persona. The sensational BTS also released their latest music video, Boy With Luv, which featured American singer, Halsey who collaborated with them in this title track. It was known to the public and their fans that BTS is close friends with Halsey who never stopped showing her support for the boys.
As always, BTS has never failed the music industry and has proven all of us with their impact. The seven-member South Korean boyband hit the milestone once again as this album would be their third No 1 hit on the Billboard 200 album chart. According to the Korea Herald, BTS is the first group since the Beatles to achieve this and to earn three No 1s in less than a year. It is known that Map of The Soul: Persona album which was released on 12 April 2019 nearly 11 months after their first no 1, Love Yourself: Tear was released. However, The Beatles also achieved this similar accomplishment in 1995 till 1996 when the band released all their Anthology which debuted at No 1 within 11 months and a week. Billboard also stated that Map of The Soul: Persona, an all Korean-language recorded album, is the fourth non-English album to dominate the notable chart in the course of the past year.
Not many Korean groups could break into the US and UK music industry because it was very challenging as there were many prominent competitors in the charts but BTS along with their supportive fans achieved this. Their latest music video, Boy With Luv became the fastest Youtube video to garner 100 million views in less than 38 hours; thanks to their fans who are always there for the boys through their ups and downs. Despite their success and achievements, BTS is known for their humble and down to earth personality who never fail to thank their fans for the love and support that they had given when it comes to making more high quality music.
BTS' leader, Kim Namjoon (known as RM), made a live stream on V Live App to talk and explain about the songs that were in the latest album. He stated that he participated in writing the lyrics for most of the songs in this latest release compared to the old ones. He even acknowledged their fans and said, "The most important part of Persona was BTS' Army." It was known that the 24 years old rapper, songwriter and producer usually comes on V Live App to breakdown all the song tracks and the meaning behind it as the fans tune in so they could get a better insight on it.
